What is the Order of the Arrow?

Scouting’s National Honor Society.

When a Scout is “called out” at summer camp, they’ve been recognized by their peers for living the Scout Oath and Law. That moment is an invitation into the Order of the Arrow — Scouting’s National Honor Society — and the start of something that can last a lifetime.

For over a century, the OA has delivered peer-led leadership experiences that build lifelong bonds through service to others. Members give back to their councils, lead at every level of Scouting, and carry the ideals of brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service into their communities.

Called by their peers

An oath of cheerful service

Arrowmen pledge cheerful service to others, to their unit, and to the camps and communities that shape Scouting.
